How It Got Started
Ross and Louise met when both working and living in London (England).

Ross worked in mechanical and electrical engineering and has had many different jobs through the years, not all in engineering. He has also travelled the world teaching scuba diving, running diving and water sports centres. As well as being the captain of a North Sea rescue boat for the Oil and Gas industry. Its fair to say Ross is driven for adventures and travel.
Louise worked as a delivery director for a global sports media company, travelling widely. She has always loved the water, from being a swimmer and lifeguard, in her youth. To canoeing and sailing holidays with friends. However Louise would not call herself confident at sea, she struggles with nerves to a point of anxiety, but will not let that stop her travelling and experiencing all the sailing life has to offer.

So this is our story on how we decided to not buy a house in London, but instead in 2017 purchased "Blue Mist" our Jeanneau Sun Odyssey 42DS. We have spent the past few years learning to sail, maintain and be confident aboard her. In May 2019 to aid this process we moved aboard full time and continued to work and prepare the boat ready for our future adventures. In June 2021 we left our home port in Gosport and started our cruising adventures.

We will try to write about the experiences on our journey and how we both feel, with views from both of our perspectives. "Blue Mist Sailing" is truly our own little passion, gaining more and more traction each day. We hope you enjoy browsing our site and all of the unique content we have to offer. Take a look around, read on and enjoy!
